Ready in just a few minutes, this Guinness beer cheese is a perfect dip for snacks.

Ingredients

3 tablespoons unsalted butter

3 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1 cup whole milk

2/3 cup Guinness

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

2 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 drop red food color and 2 drops yellow food color (optional)

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan, then whisk in the flour.
  2. Whisk in the milk and continue heating the mixture until it thickens slightly, about 1 minute.
  3. Whisk in the remaining ingredients and heat until the cheese is melted and smooth. 
  4. The beer cheese will be a brown color due to the Guinness in it, if you want it to be more orange, add 1 drop of red and 2 drops of yellow food color. 
  5. Pour the beer cheese into a serving dish and serve with pretzels, bread, or even veggies!
